abstract A non-laxative filler system and a method for preparing it are described. Gelatin and pectin combine to form a premixed mixture. Then a second set of ingredients comprising polydextrose (or modified polydextrose) and erythritol are combined to form a first liquid mixture. The next step includes forming a second liquid mixture comprising at least one acid and water. The dry mixed mixture is added to the first liquid mixture, forming a first combination. Water is then added to the first combination, and the resulting combination is heated to a predetermined first temperature. The first predetermined temperature is maintained for a predetermined period of time, and then the heat is reduced to a second predetermined temperature. The second liquid mixture is then added to the combination. The embodiments of the invention further comprise adding hydrolyzed corn starch (MSM) and / or active ingredients as components of the non-laxative filler system. The third set of ingredients may also preferably include fruit concentrate, flavoring, coloring and / or sucralose.
