abstract | The present invention relates to a method for melting methyl polymethacrylate (PMMA) plates with impact reinforced properties, comprising the following steps: 1) heating a mixture that includes; at least one alkoxyamine Z- (T) n, where Z represents a multivalent group and n is an integer greater than 2, preferably, between 2 and 10, advantageously between 2 and 8 and the monomer (s) designated to form a central sequence B at a temperature sufficient to activate the alkoxyamine and polymerize the monomers; 2) reactivate the central sequence B optionally mixed with the monomer (s) not consumed in step 1) in the presence of the monomer (s) designated to form the branches A; 3) add methyl methacrylate (MAM) to the mixture obtained in step 2) and optionally at least one M comonomer capable of free radical copolymerization with MMA and at least one free radical initiator; 4) melt the mixture obtained in step 3) in a mold, followed by heating. |
