abstract The present invention refers to improvements in a non-slip or ornamental engraving procedure on marble and onyx consisting of the steps of: a) Printing the desired drawing on the plate to be engraved, by screen printing or flexographic methods, with a lacquer or polymer that is not strongly attacked by the acid to be used in the engraving process and whose adhesiveness after undergoing the acid attack procedure and the neutralizing solution is less than the hardness of the plate; b) Subject the already printed surface of the plate, when the print has already polymerized, to a bath with an aqueous solution of an acid selected from nitric acid, hydrofluoric acid or hydrochloric acid, for 15 to 20 minutes. c) Wash the plates with an aqueous solution of sodium bisulphite to neutralize and eliminate the residual acid when the depth of the engraving is adequate, d) Dry the plates and brush them to eliminate the residues of the polymer or lacquer.
