titleOfInvention DECORATIVE ARTICLE AND PROCEDURE TO PRODUCE IT
abstract The present invention relates to a decorative article for covering an elongated automotive component, characterized in that it comprises: a flexible vinyl substrate with a thickness of approximately .0508 to .254 mm (.002 to .010 inches), which has a first surface and a second surface: an essentially non-wettable material that forms a closed edge pattern on the substrate, the edge pattern circumscribes an area on the second surface of the substrate and defines a marginal area with generally uniform dimension that surrounds the area; a clear plastic cap cured in the area on the second surface of the substrate that provides a lenticular effect on the substrate, thereby improving the appearance of the substrate as seen through the plastic cap, and mounts for placing the article on the component automotive, to provide a decorative covering, with the marginal area wrapped around the edges of the component characterized in that the vinyl substrate is produced by casting vinyl plastisol on a smooth surface, to produce a smooth cast side surface, the first surface .
