titleOfInvention | PROCEDURE FOR DETACHING WASTE IN PAINT SPRAYING OPERATIONS USING MELAMINE-FORMALDEHYDE |
abstract | The present invention relates to a method for suppressing and flocculating splashed, water-insoluble paint that comes into contact with and is captured by water in an operation of a paint spray booth, characterized in that it comprises a) adjusting the alkalinity of said water at a value between about 50 and 1100 ppm on a calcium carbonate basis; b) maintaining in said water an effective amount of a melamine-aldehyde type polymer; c) adding an effective amount of a polymeric coagulant to said water after contacting the splashed paint with said alkalinity and said melamine-aldehyde type polymer; and d) removing the sludge resulting from steps a), b) and c) of said water. |
