titleOfInvention CONTINUED DISPOSAL OF ANTI-INFECTIVE AGENTS
abstract Lipid anti-infectious agents have been disclosed that substantially lack anionic lipids, in which the ratio of lipids and anti-infective agents is from about 1: 1 to about 4: 1, and where the mean diameter is less than about 1 m m. Also provided is a process for the preparation of a lipidic anti-infective preparation which involves an infusion process. Lipid anti-infectives are also provided in which the lipid-drug ratio is approximately 1: 1 or less, approximately 0.75: 1 or less, or approximately 0.50: 1 or less, obtained by the infusion process into water. The present invention also relates to a method of treating a patient with pulmonary infection, which involves administering a therapeutically effective amount of a lipid anti-infective preparation according to the present invention. The present invention also relates to a method of treating a patient suffering from cystic fibrosis, which involves administering a therapeutically effective amount of a lipid anti-infective preparation according to the present invention.
