titleOfInvention Use of N- (2,4-dimethylphenyl) -2- (2-hydroxybenzylidene) -hydrazincarbotioamide as an inhibitor of Candida albicans fungal proliferation
abstract The invention relates to chemistry and medicine, in particular to the use of an organic biologically active compound of the thiosemicarbazone class, which exhibits high bacteriostatic and bactericidal activity against Candida albicans and can be used in medicine and veterinary medicine for the prevention and treatment of mycoses. The invention consists in the use of N- (2,4-Dimethylphenyl) -2- (2-hydroxybenzylidene) -hydrazinecarbothioamide of the formula: as an inhibitor of the growth and reproduction of fungi such as Candida albicans. Moreover, this thiosemicarbazone p at the same time, it shows 2 times higher bacteriostatic antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and 4 ... 17 times higher against Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, compared to methyl N '- [(2-hydroxynaphthalen-1- il) methylidene] -N- (prop-2-en-1-yl) -hydrazidocarbimidothioate.
