The present invention relates to a flame retardant product consisting of an aqueous solution comprising: - a hydroxylated carbon component, - an intumescent agent capable of at least partially, or even totally dehydrating, the hydroxylated carbon component so as to generate, under the effect of heat, a carbonated foam, - a thixotropic agent, chosen to have a viscosity which increases under the effect of an addition of water in the absence of shearing, the solution being sufficiently concentrated in the hydroxylated carbon component and in the intumescent agent so that adding water to said solution increases its viscosity in the absence of shear. |
