| abstract |
The present invention provides a novel method of disposing of spent bleaching earth which is economically beneficial and avoids the problems typically associated with its disposal. By adding fine lime (calcium carbonate) to the spent bleaching earth discharged from the process filters, spontaneous combustion can be eliminated. The material can then be transported in solid form to a production facility for use as a nutrient ingredient in the manufacture of a wide range of poultry and livestock feed products. |
