abstract The present invention relates to 1- (azoln-2-yl) amino-1,2-diphenylethane compounds of the general formula (1) wherein A is a radical of the formulas A 'or A2: and wherein m is 0 , 1,2,3,4 or 5, n is 0,1,2,3 "4 or 5, X is sulfur or oxygen, and wherein the variables R1, R2, R3, R4, R5a, R5b, R5c, R5d are as defined in the claims, and salts thereof acceptable for agriculture. The invention also relates to a method for controlling animal pests, chosen from insects, arachnids and nematodes, and to a method for protecting crops from attacks or invasions of insects, arachnids or nematodes, wherein a crop is brought into contact with an effective amount as a pesticide of a 1- (azolm-2-yl) ajmino-1,2-diphenylethane compound of the general formula (1) and / or at least one salt of the last. ; ,
