titleOfInvention WOODEN HIGH-PERFORMANCE DRYING METHOD
abstract An invention relates to methods for drying of timber, namely to methods for thermal drying of timber. According to the method a saw-timber to be dried is stacked on a pallet adapted for loading into a boiler and then moved by transportation means, such as electrotelfer, to the site of processing by the drying agent. A petrolatum heated up to 130-140 oC is used as drying agent. A draying itself is carried out by complete plunging of saw-timber into a boiler with heated petrolatum and holding down in it at the above said temperature within the entire time of the process of drying. The time for holding down of saw-timber in the heated petrolatum is set up within the range of 8-12 hours, depending of the thickness to which the timber is sawed. A process chart (fig.1) according to the method assumes consecutively arranged loading of boilers filled with petrolatum using several boilers arranged to form a row. The method is cost-effective and characterized by extremely low time period required for drying of saw-timber (not more than some hours only) excluding cracking, splitting and warping of saw-timber processed according to the method.
