titleOfInvention Ink-jet printing compositions (INK-JET PRINTING COMPOSITIONS)
abstract Polyamide resins useful in the preparation of high melting point inks for ink-jet printing are prepared by polycondensation of a third reactant selected from monoamines, diacids and diamines, amino alcohols and combinations thereof. Preferably, the diacid, the monoamine and the third reactant are reacted together in a molar ratio of 2: 2: 1. Polyamides provide ink compositions with low viscosity at elevated operating temperatures of ink-jet printers, but are solid at room temperature and contribute to good adhesion to printed substrates.
