titleOfInvention | Wax Hydroisomerization Process (Wax Hydroisomerization Process) |
abstract | Petroleum wax is converted to high viscosity index lubricating oil in a synergistic manner using two catalysts. The viscosity index and yield of the product of the integrated catalyst process is higher than that of using either of the two catalysts alone. The wax feedstock pretreated by mild hydrocracking is less waxy on the low acidity zeolite isomerization catalyst, which is effective in preferentially isomerizing the paraffin components in the feedstock in the presence of hydrogen first, and isomerized to isoparaffins of high viscosity index. The isomerization is operated under a hydrogen partial pressure of 5617 kPaa or more (reactor inlet). Preferably, the catalyst is a noble metal-containing zeolite beta catalyst containing boron as a skeleton component of zeolite so as to have a low alpha value, typically 20 or less. The isomerization is carried out at a temperature of 345 ° C in the range of 10 to 40% by weight of the raw material. The product of the isomerization process is then contacted with the shape-selective catalyst to further lower the pour point. ZSM-22, ZSM-23 or ZSM-35 are preferably used. The shape-selective catalyst preferably contains a noble metal such as Pd or Pt. |
