titleOfInvention Central Venous Catheters Loaded With Antibiotics of the Ramoplanin Group Preventing Development of catheter Related Infections
abstract The present invention relates to the use of a central venous polyurethane catheter having a thin hydrophilic coating loaded with a lamboplanin antibiotic or a mixture thereof and a catheter related infection thereof. This catheter is useful for preventing bacterial attachment and colonization, thus reducing the risk of endotracheal infection in patients with catheter insertion. The catheter production method of the present invention consists in culturing a polyurethane catheter coated with a hydrophilic membrane in a selected antibiotic solution.
