titleOfInvention | Polycrystalline conductive polymers and precursors thereof with adjustable form and properties |
abstract | The present invention relates to a polycrystalline material containing a precursor to an electrically conductive polymer having an adjustable term high crystallinity and crystallites of the electrically conductive polymer. The intersticial region between crystallites contains an amorphous material containing the precursor of the electrically conductive polymer and / or the electrically conductive polymer. Crystallinity is obtained by preparing materials under conditions that provide high mobility to the polymer molecules so that the polymer molecules can bond together to form a crystalline state. This is preferably obtained by including additives such as plasticizers and diluents in the solution in which the polycrystalline material is formed. The shape of the polycrystalline material is adjustable to modify the properties of the material, such as crystallinity, crystal grain size, glass transition temperature, thermal expansion coefficient, electrical conductivity. High levels of electrical conductivity are obtained in electrically conductive polycrystalline materials that do not contain stretch oriented materials. Improved electrical conductivity is isotropic compared to stretch oriented films with isotropic electrical conductivity. |
