abstract |
The present invention relates to a process for producing rutile titanium dioxide, characterized in that at least 99.5% by weight is formed in rutile crystal form by heating a hydrated titanium oxide which is easily changed to rutile titanium dioxide. The test for rapid change to rutile is by heating the hydrated titanium oxide to 950 ° C. at a rate of 1 ° C. per minute. By doing so, at least 99.0% by weight of a material suitable for the present invention is changed to rutile. The product has a very narrow particle size distribution and a crystal size distribution and is an excellent pigment. |
