titleOfInvention | CORNEAL TEMPLATE AND SURGICAL PROCEDURE FOR REFRACTIVE VISION CORRECTION |
abstract | Selective removal of corneal tissue and its curvature method for refractive visibility is accomplished by a fertilization template in association with a planar cut high pressure widgetjet micro-keratome. The horizontal template is suitable for providing a planar cutting guide to the corneal tissue for the required refractive modification and the template has a non-planar surface of a predetermined shape. The non-planar surface of the template balances the retardation of the cornea to be refractive modified, and the corneal tissue to be removed is modified to correspond and remain relative to the non-planar surface. A vacuum is applied between the template and the cornea to maintain it. The sheet-shaped waterjet microkeratomes provide a non-scanning transverse plane through the corneal tissue at a location proximal to the template and have an unmodified shape in which the disturbances are modified by the release of the template from the corneal tissue. The use of waterjet micro-keratomes will provide a cut corneal tissue surface that has a softness and gloss that is substantially equivalent to the original surface. |
