When selected silicon compounds are added to cyclic ether cation polymerization reactions such as oxiranes and tetrahydrofuran tubes, the rate of polymerization often rises and new polyethers are produced. Polyether products are particularly useful as monomers and macromonomers after hydrolysis of silicon containing terminal groups. |
