titleOfInvention | Solid carbon monoxide sensor |
abstract | Molybdenum, tungsten or vanadium salt-palladium, ruthenium or osmium salt compositions for CO detection are further reversible of ferric, chromium (VI) or cerum (IV) ions. This system is achieved by adding interfering salts with interferences that form white or colorless deposits. Its operating period and shelf life are extended as a mixture of counter ions which prevents reduction of the catalyst; Acetate counterions are particularly useful as redox transfer agents.n n n In solid CO optical sensors, chemicals are included in the polymer intercalation matrix with penetration enhancers, if necessary. Solubility of chemicals in the polymer matrix is increased by adding lipophilic counterions. A matrix with intercalated sensing chemicals is applied over the optical support to form a photoconversion device which may be an interference conversion device. |
