abstract BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a white decorative part, wherein the white decorative part is formed on a base layer, a white hard film formed on the base layer by the dry plating method, and formed on the white hard film by the dry plating method. An outermost layer, wherein the white hard layer is formed of nitride, carbide, oxide, or carbonitride or Ti of at least one element selected from Ti, Hf, Zr, Ta, V, Cr, and Al; The film is composed of gold-nickel, gold-nickel alloy, gold-tantalum alloy, gold-cobalt alloy, gold-palladium alloy, gold-silver alloy, gold-rhodium alloy, gold-titanium alloy or gold-iron alloy. The ratio of gold to the outer coating is 30 to 80 atomic%, while the proportion of nickel, tantalum, cobalt, palladium, silver, rhodium, titanium or iron to the outermost coating is 20 to 70 atomic%. The invention also relates to a process for the production of such white decorative parts. The white decorative parts have a warm, uniform, high gloss white tone, excellent adhesion between the outermost layer and the base layer, and a high quality appearance. When the outermost coating consists of a gold-titanium alloy or a gold-iron alloy, no metallic allergy is caused to the white decorative parts.
