titleOfInvention Surface Coating for Image Display with Improved Color Contrast
abstract The surface coating applied to the outer surface of the display screen for use in a self-emitting color display such as a cathode ray tube (CRT) having a phosphor coated surface on its inner surface may include two adjacent primary colors such as red and green liver or green and blue liver Improves color purity and contrast by reducing redundancy in the color spectrum of the liver. One organic dye is added to the inner antistatic layer or the outer reflector layer of the antireflective / antistatic coating that is applied to the display screen, where both of the layers described above contain silane. The dye performs the function of a color filter that absorbs only light within the frequency range between adjacent primary colors, such as the range of 460 to 500 nm between the blue and red phosphors and the range of 560 to 600 nm between the green and red phosphors. The silane coupling agent is added to serve as a bonding agent that bonds the organic dye and silane together. In this manner, the organic dye is adhered to the antistatic layer or the silane in the antireflective layer to prevent the organic dye filter from being separated or separated from these layers in the outer coating of the display screen.
