abstract | The present invention relates to a process for the production of crosslinked PVC copolymers with thermal stability wherein the crosslinking is carried out after the treatment of the polymer and in the presence of moisture. Copolymers of vinyl chloride with 0.05-10% by weight of vinyl containing alkoxysilane compounds are used. Preference is given to using methacryloxy-propyltrimethoxy-silane or methacryloxy-propyltriethoxysilane as comonomer. Crosslinking can be performed regardless of the type of stabilizer. Condensation catalysts can also be used to prevent premature crosslinking. |
