Rubber material containing phenoxy acetic acid |
abstract |
The present invention relates to rubber materials containing 0.1 to 10.0 phr of phenoxyacetic acid. The addition of phenoxyacetic acid to the rubber material increases the low strain stiffnes in the rubber material and increases the treadwear when such rubber is used in the tread material. Phenoxyacetic acid can also be used as a methylene acceptor or as a substitute for resorcinol in rubber materials. Phenoxyacetic acid also acts as a silica coupling agent and provides a lower viscosity compared to rubber materials containing silane coupling agents conventional in processing rubber materials. |
