titleOfInvention Polyethylene glycol hydrazone and polyethylene glycol oxime bond formers, and protein derivatives thereof
abstract The present invention provides methods and compounds for modifying polypeptides to polyethylene glycol (PEG) or other water soluble organic polymers. Novel water soluble polymer formulations are provided for this purpose.n n n Water-soluble polymer formulations of the present invention include hydrazine, hydrazine carboxylate, semicarbazide, thiosemicarbazide, carbonic acid dihydrazide, carbazide, thiocarbazide, and arylhydrazide derivatives and oxylamine derivatives of water-soluble organic polymers. Such as polyethylene glycol, polypropylene glycol, polyoxyethylated polyols, heparin, heparin fragments, dextran, polysaccharides, polyamino acids and polyvinyl alcohols.n n n Also provided are beneficial polypeptides derived by the water soluble polymer formulation of the invention.n n n Also provided are kits for modifying a polypeptide with a water soluble polymer formulation of the invention.
