System and method for selective collection of light emitting devices |
abstract |
A method for selectively collecting microLED devices from a carrier substrate is provided. The carrier substrate includes a predetermined defect area of the microLED device with a number of contiguous defects. The solvent-resistant colloidal material is covered in predetermined defect areas, and the exposed adhesive is dissolved by the adhesive dissolving solvent. A non-defective microLED device located outside the predetermined defect area is separated from the carrier substrate, while maintaining adhesion by adhesion between the microLED device within the predetermined defect area and the carrier substrate. In addition, a method for dispensing microLED elements in a light emitting display panel by optically measuring the microLED suspension to determine suspension uniformity and calculating the number of microLEDs per unit volume is provided. Knowing the number of microLED elements collected in the suspension, the number of microLED elements per unit volume of the suspension can be calculated. |
