amino acid surfactant |
abstract |
The present disclosure provides amino acid derivatives with surface-active properties. The amino acid may be naturally occurring or synthesized, or may be obtained through a ring-opening reaction of a lactam such as caprolactam. Amino acids can be functionalized to form compounds that are surface-active and have advantageous surfactant properties. The compounds of the present disclosure have a low critical micelle concentration (CMC) as well as an excellent ability to lower the surface tension of liquids. |
