abstract The present disclosure provides a cathode material, a method for manufacturing the same, and a lithium ion battery. The cathode material has a core-shell structure, the core layer includes a cobalt-free single crystal positive electrode active material, and the shell layer includes LiAlO 2 and LiFePO 4 . LiAlO 2 and LiFePO 4 are coated on the surface of the cobalt-free single-crystal positive electrode active material to improve the electrical conductivity of the cobalt-free single-crystal layered positive electrode material, thereby improving the capacity, rate properties and circulation properties of the material.
