Deep Rechargeable Battery Systems and Methods |
abstract |
The present invention relates to deep rechargeable battery systems and methods that provide deep rechargeable anodes in which core/shell nanoscale structures overcome the intrinsic limitations of conventional battery materials comprising soluble intermediates or insulating discharge products. A deep rechargeable battery system and method overcomes the dilemma of passivation and dissolution simultaneously. The ion-sieve concept applies to the Zn anode, which limits larger zincate ions and allows smaller hydroxide ions to permeate, which can limit/prevent ZnO dissolution and electrode morphology changes. |
