abstract |
The present invention relates to a method for pyrolytic fragmentation of sugars into compositions comprising C 1 -C 3 oxygenates. In particular, the present invention relates to the use of heat retaining particles which provide improved yield and improved fluidization characteristics of C 1 -C 3 oxygenates, making them suitable for, for example, industrial scale production of glycolaldehyde. The invention also relates to a circulating fluidized bed system comprising heat retaining particles. |
