FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to the art of synthetic biology and metabolic engineering. More specifically, the present invention relates to the field of fermentation of metabolically engineered host cells. The present invention discloses a method for producing fucosyllactose by fermentation using the genetically modified cell, and the genetically modified cell used in the method. The genetically modified cell comprises at least one nucleic acid sequence encoding an enzyme involved in fucosyllactose synthesis, and more specifically, the cell comprises a nucleic acid sequence encoding a fucosyltransferase synthesizing fucosyllactose and a membrane protein. at least one nucleic acid expressing a nucleic acid, more specifically a nucleic acid sequence expressing a membrane protein capable of transporting fucosyllactose. |
