The present invention relates to inhibitors that bind gasdermin D and inhibit gasdermin D-mediated cell death and inflammation. The inhibitor may be proteinaceous, for example an antigen-binding protein, or may be nonproteinaceous, such as an aptamer. Antibodies that bind to the peptide of SEQ ID NO:9 are disclosed: KREGSGRFSLPGATC.
