Provided are a novel zeolite having a specific trace amount of Brensted acid sites on the surface, which is expected to be useful as a catalyst for aromatization of non-aromatic hydrocarbons represented by aliphatic hydrocarbons and the like, and a catalyst for producing aromatic hydrocarbons comprising the same. A zeolite, characterized in that it satisfies the following characteristics (i) to (iii). (i) The average particle diameter is 100 nm or less. (ii) 10-membered ring pore zeolites. (iii) The amount of Brenstead acid on the outer surface is 0.1 to 10.0 μmol/g. |
