The present invention comprises at least one protein binding agent selected from the group consisting of an antibody, an antibody fragment or derivative that retains the target binding ability, or an antibody mimetic substance, optionally a peptide linker, and at least one protein toxin or protein protoxin. It relates to a method for producing a binder-toxin fusion protein. The method comprises, in an operable linkage, a plant cell or whole plant, at least A) at least one polynucleotide encoding a protein binding agent, or a target binding chain or domain thereof, and B1) a polynucleotide encoding a cleavable peptide linker, and a protein contacting the construct with a nucleic acid construct comprising either a polynucleotide encoding a toxin, or B2) a polynucleotide encoding a protein protoxin (the protoxin comprises a cleavable domain for its activation); allowing integration into the nucleus of a plant cell, or one or more cells of the whole plant, and expressing the fusion protein encoded by the nucleic acid construct ( FIG. 7 ). |
