abstract The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition and a functional food composition for the prevention or treatment of metabolic diseases comprising, as an active ingredient, a Tat peptide variant in which an internal residue of a certain length is substituted with an aliphatic amino carboxylic acid. The composition of the present invention can be usefully used as a composition for treating metabolic diseases that is easier to produce and has superior biocompatibility because water solubility and yield are remarkably increased while maintaining the fat reduction effect of the natural Tat peptide.
