An object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing a positive electrode active material that realizes high powder properties and high load resistance (eg, rate performance and output resistance) when used in a lithium ion secondary battery, with a short manufacturing cycle time and low cost. In order to perform the heat treatment at a temperature below the melting point of magnesium fluoride, lithium fluoride is mixed to melt the magnesium fluoride and modify the surface of the lithium cobaltate powder. By mixing lithium fluoride, magnesium fluoride can be melted at a temperature lower than the melting point, and this eutectic phenomenon is used to form a positive electrode active material. |
