abstract The present invention relates to the field of copper foil technology, and more particularly, the present invention relates to a method for manufacturing an ultra-thin electrolytic copper foil for a medium-strength lithium ion battery. A first aspect of the present invention provides an electrolyte additive for an ultra-thin electrolytic copper foil for a lithium ion battery, wherein the electrolyte additive includes a crystal refining agent of 0.2 to 0.7 g/L, a leveling agent of 0.1 to 0.5 g/L, and 0.01 to 0.3 g/L L of wetting agent. The ultra-thin electrolytic copper foil for lithium batteries provided by the present invention has low roughness and high surface wetting tension; The thickness of the ultra-thin electrolytic copper foil for lithium batteries provided by the present invention is less than 6 microns, the thickness is uniform, the areal density range is less than 1.0 g/m 2 , the stability of the manufacturing process is high, and the copper foil does not burn.
