abstract The present invention relates to a composition for preventing or treating dyslipidemia comprising an extract of turmeric (Curcuma longa). It was confirmed that the turmeric extract of the present invention reduces triglycerides, total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and C/EBP, and increases HDL cholesterol and p-AMPK, thereby regulating the balance of lipid metabolism, and reducing ability of ALT and AST was confirmed, and the protective effect on organs related to lipid metabolism was also confirmed. In addition, it was confirmed that the antioxidant activity factors SOD and CAT increased, and the reduction of lipids accumulated in the liver was confirmed with the naked eye and an optical microscope, so it was confirmed that the turmeric extract of the present invention had an excellent effect on dyslipidemia.
