A self-cleaning apparatus and method using electrical and mechanical vibrations are disclosed. The self-cleaning device includes at least one first electrode arranged on a solid material layer, a first insulating film arranged on the first electrode, a hydrophobic film arranged on the first insulating film, and at least one mechanical vibration unit. Here, by applying a first electric signal to the first electrode, electric vibration that causes horizontal vibration of the droplet is generated to merge the droplets on the hydrophobic film, and the mechanical vibration unit causes vertical vibration of the droplet. Mechanical vibration is generated to move the merged droplets in a specific direction or to be atomized to remove them. |
