abstract | Methods, systems, uses and computer program products for inspection of articles are disclosed. The method (1) of the present invention comprises the steps of obtaining a projection image of an article using a radiation imaging system (2), generating a plurality of simulated projection images of the article or components of the article based on the simulation of a numerical three-dimensional model. Obtaining step (3), wherein at least one geometric parameter related to the relative orientation between the simulated article, the simulated radiation source and the simulated detection plane varies over the plurality of simulated images. The method of the present invention comprises a step (4) of determining the relative orientation of the article to the imaging system, wherein the determination of the relative orientation comprises (9) comparing the projected image with a plurality of simulated images. The method of the present invention comprises the steps of determining at least one rotation angle (5) taking into account the viewing angle and the relative direction, moving the article and/or imaging system according to the at least one rotation angle (6), and further projecting images. After the step of moving the article, such that the is corresponding to the view of the article from the viewing angle, it includes a step 7 of acquiring a further projected image of the article. |
