abstract |
The present invention relates to a pressure vessel for storing fluid at high pressure. The container includes a liner and a composite laminate shell coupled to the outer surface of the liner. The liner has an inner surface defining an inner wall of the cavity, and the cavity includes a domed region with a central opening. An access channel traverses the composite laminate shell to provide access to the cavity. The central opening faces the entrance of the access channel. A boss connector located or partially located in the access channel includes an inner bore configured to receive a valve or plug, and a plurality of interspaced rib elements protruding into the composite laminate shell to optimize pressure distribution within the laminate shell. Includes an external neck. |
