abstract |
The method includes providing a polymer. The polymer is heated to liquefy the polymer by heating to a first predetermined temperature. The liquefied polymer is formed from polymer fibers. A crosslinked polymer comprising a polymer network is crosslinked by at least one of cooling the polymeric fiber to a second predetermined temperature lower than the first predetermined temperature or exposing the polymeric fiber to a crosslinking stimulus. To form fibers, the crosslinked polymer fibers may be decrosslinked by heating to a third predetermined temperature higher than the characteristic decrosslinking temperature of the polymer. |
