Improved sheath pattern |
abstract |
Disclosed herein are a reinforced expandable guide sheath and a method of using the same. The sheath minimizes traumatic impairment to the patient's vascular system by including a reinforcing member that improves the sheath pushing force while reducing the likelihood of kinks during delivery of the artificial device. The sheath may include a plurality of expandable rings aligned along the longitudinal axis of the sheath and joined together to form an elongate tubular structure. The sheath may also include a plurality of radial members disposed circumferentially to form a tubular support structure. The radial members are slidably interconnected around the circumference of the tubular structure to facilitate radial expansion of the sheath. |
