abstract | An embodiment of the present invention provides a method of administering tasimelteon to a patient, comprising orally administering an effective amount of tasimelteon under fasting conditions. Fasting conditions include administration of tasimeltheone without food, no food for at least 1/2 hour before administration, no food for at least 1 hour before administration, no food for at least 1 to 1/2 hour before administration, or No food for at least 2 hours, no food for at least 2 to 1/2 hours prior to administration, or no food for at least 3 hours prior to administration. According to these embodiments, tasimeltheone may be administered at a dose of, for example, 20 mg/d. Tasimeltheone can be administered, for example, to a patient being treated for circadian rhythm disorders or for sleep disorders, including, for example, non-24 hour disorders. |
