abstract |
The present invention relates to a method for removing a dry surface biofilm from a surface. The method includes the following steps: (i) dissolving the powder-based composition in water, the powder-based composition comprising a) a hydrogen peroxide source, b) an acetyl donor, c) an acidifying agent and d) a wetting agent. To do, step; (ii) allowing the solution to produce a biocidally effective concentration of peracetic acid; (iii) contacting the dried surface biofilm contaminated surface with a peracetic acid solution for a period of time; And (iv) removing the solution. |
