abstract |
Manganese-(III) species contain mixed aqueous containing manganese-(II) species such that ozone oxidizes at least a portion of the manganese-(II) species to manganese-(III) species with an Mn(III) production efficiency of at least 60%. It is produced and regenerated in a mixed aqueous acid solution containing manganese-(II) species by injecting ozone gas into the acid solution. Acids include sulfuric acid and alkane sulfuric acid. Aqueous acid solutions containing manganese-(III) and manganese-(II) species are used to etch polymeric materials. Etching is a chromeless etching method. |
