titleOfInvention | Novel terphenyl-baseed amphiphiles and uses thereof |
abstract | The present invention relates to a newly developed terphenyl-based amphiphilic compound, a method for manufacturing the same, and a method for extracting, dissolving, stabilizing, crystallizing or analyzing a membrane protein using the same. In addition, this compound can extract membrane proteins with various structures and characteristics more efficiently than the existing compounds from the cell membrane and stably store them in an aqueous solution for a long period of time, thereby utilizing them for functional analysis and structural analysis. Membrane protein structure and function analysis is closely related to the development of new drugs, so it is one of the fields of greatest interest in current biology and chemistry. |
