titleOfInvention | Wat1 protein for growth promoting or biomass increasing of plants and uses same |
abstract | The present invention relates to a WAT1 (walls are thin 1) protein for promoting growth or biomass of plants and a method for promoting growth or biomass of plants using the protein. Specifically, the WAT1 protein according to the present invention, while showing the effect of promoting development and organogenesis in transgenic tomatoes over-expressing it, the effect of increasing the number of cells in the vascular tube, the effect of increasing the number of cells in the large tube, and the enlargement of the cell wall, etc. In the transgenic tomato, the expression of which has been suppressed, the cell division reverse effect of the water tube part, and the cell wall development inhibitory effect, so that the WAT1 protein or the polynucleotide encoding the same is used for promoting growth of plants or promoting biomass, especially the root crop. It can be usefully used to increase the yield by promoting the growth of root storage organs of crops such as ginseng, sweet potato, and radish. |
