(Task) It is to provide a liquid crystal aligning agent which can obtain a liquid crystal aligning film excellent in liquid crystal aligning property, transparency and solvent resistance. (Solution means) A polymer having a partial structure represented by formula (1) is contained in a liquid crystal aligning agent. (In formula (1), R 1 is a hydrogen atom or a monovalent organic group, X 1 is a tetravalent organic group, and X 2 is a divalent organic group. M n + has a typical metal element or transition metal element.) n is a cation of n. n is an integer greater than or equal to 1. m1 is 1 or 2, m2 is 0 or 1, and m1 + m2 = 2 is satisfied.) |
