Method and device for detecting anticoagulants in plasma and whole blood |
abstract |
The present invention describes a method and apparatus for evaluating coagulation, including a method and apparatus for detecting an anticoagulant agent or coagulation abnormality. In various embodiments, the methods and devices of the present invention measure the coagulation of a sample in response to a gradient of one or more coagulation factors. These responses can be assessed for accurate profiling of the coagulation disorder of the sample, including the presence of anticoagulant drugs. In various embodiments, the present invention provides convenient point-of-care or bedside testing using a convenient microfluidic device that can be used by people with minimal training. |
