abstract |
The present invention relates to an electrocatalyst for metal-air batteries and a method of manufacturing the same, and more particularly to a zinc-air battery electrocatalyst comprising a metal powder and a metal carbide layer surrounding the metal powder. The electrocatalyst of the present invention provides a rich reactive active site during oxygen reduction and oxygen evolution, and provides an easy electron transport path between the metal carbide surface and oxygen, thereby reducing the cost of both oxygen reduction and oxygen evolution. It exhibits excellent difunctional catalytic activity against, and thus can replace conventional electrocatalysts such as Pt and RuO 2 . |
